Mystery
Train
the music of Jerry Garcia
Connecticut's Jerry Garcia Band project
When Jerry wasn't with the Grateful Dead he built a second life onstage: Motown and reggae, Dylan and The Band, gospel, country, and his own songs with Robert Hunter. Mystery Train plays that book.
The group formed in the fall of 2023 and has been working rooms across western Connecticut ever since — breweries, VFW halls, patios, and late clubs. Seasoned players. We are not a Dead cover band. We ride the Jerry Garcia Band catalog, and the covers he loved enough to make his own.

Songs Jerry chose
Garcia's solo band was a jukebox with a conscience — The Band, the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Wilson Pickett. Motown next to Hunter, a Junior Parker train song pulling out of the station. This is the country we play in.
